Where to keep the little ones occupied

Summer is the time to be in UAE, especially if you’ve got little ones to entertain.
Some of the city’s best activities and attractions can be found indoors, and there’s a host of ways to keep the kids entertained on holiday while you do your own thing – or join in, perhaps.
Here are five of the best indoor kids’ attractions you’ll find in UAE this summer.

Legoland Dubai

Build memories
One of Dubai’s newest and most popular family attractions, Legoland Dubai, comes with exciting rides and interactive game and factory tours. Plus there’s the chance to build and race their own Lego cars and robots, and – of course – an enormous shop. The theme park will set imaginations alight and keep little hands busy all day long.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

The world’s first Ferrari-branded theme park
Beneath its gigantic, iconic red roof it houses numerous high-adrenaline rides including the spectacular new Flying Aces ride, featuring the highest rollercoaster loop in the world, the world’s fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa, with a top speed of 250kmph in 4.9 seconds, family-friendly attractions, state-of-the-art simulators, electric-powered go-karts, live shows and an inspiring treasure of racing memorabilia!

Dubai Aquarium

An underwater world
Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is the world’s largest suspended aquarium, located inside the action-packed Dubai Mall. Here, kids get the chance to get up close and personal with sharks, crocs and rays, and even join a behind-the-scenes tour with an Aquarist (from AED150) to learn more about taking care of the underwater world. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can get up-close-and-personal with sharks or take a glass-bottom boat tour.

Al Ain Zoo

Home to over 4,000 animals
Designed in the style of a local farm, the ‘Elezba’ petting zoo lets families feed and play with sheep, goats, camels, llamas, chicken and ducks, enjoy camel riding or picnic in a designated area. There is also a Children’s Garden, which is a fun-filled, outdoor learning area designed to inspire children with a love for biodiversity. The garden features a rolling hill, mixed use play areas, picnic spots, a flower garden and native plant garden with species indigenous to the UAE, a recycling garden and a vegetable, fruit and herb garden. With spectacular African Baobab trees framing the area, the towering trunks offer a genuine horticulture lesson in how specific plants can adapt to dry soil conditions.

Butterfly House

Al Noor Island – Sharjah
Over 500 butterflies live on Al Noor Island in the Butterfly House, one of the most popular tourist places in Sharjah. With temperature and humidity controlled interiors, the structure houses over 20 different species of butterflies, including the exotic Tailed Jay, Emerald Swallowtail, Pink Rose and Malachite. The house also has comprehensive information on the region’s native species. This destination has many fun things to do with kids in Sharjah, with a dedicated children’s area and an array of butterflies in different shapes, colors and sizes. Trying to spot camouflaged butterflies and watching newborns take flight are arguably among Sharjah’s most exciting summer activities for kids.
