Dubai Water Canal: A Scenic Waterfront in the Heart of Dubai
Dubai Water Canal is a 3.2 km man-made waterway. It stretches from the Creek in Old Dubai, flows through Business Bay, and finally reaches the Arabian Gulf. Since opening in 2016, the canal has transformed Downtown Dubai into a vibrant urban waterfront.
Walk, Run, or Cycle Along the Canal
The Dubai Canal promenade features 6.4 km of pathways on both sides. These wide, well-lit trails are perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling. Whether early in the morning or during sunset, it’s a peaceful way to experience the city.
Iconic Bridges and Stunning Views
There are five pedestrian bridges crossing the canal. Each one offers photo-worthy views of the city. One bridge stands out — Tolerance Bridge, known for its elegant purple arch. In 2017, it was renamed in honour of the International Day of Tolerance.
From these bridges, you can enjoy panoramic views of Downtown Dubai’s skyline and the canal’s modern design.
Attractions and Experiences Nearby
Close to the canal, you’ll find exciting destinations like the V Hotel Dubai and Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City. Just a short walk away, the world-class La Perle by Dragone show offers a mix of acrobatics, water effects, and storytelling. It’s a must-see for visitors.
Future Plans: More to Come
Dubai Water Canal is more than a beautiful walkway. The area is still growing. Plans include a new marina, more retail shops, and outdoor recreational areas. This means even more activities and experiences will soon be available along the canal.
